Harborplace Celebrates 30 Years! [June 2010]
Baltimore's Icon of Urban Renewal Turns 30 With An Extraordinary Celebration
On July 2, 1980, Harborplace catapulted Baltimore into the international spotlight as one of the leading US cities in urban renewal. Its developer, James Rouse, was seen as a pioneer of downtown revitalization. Since that momentous occasion, Harborplace has continued to be the prime location for city-wide celebrations, festivals and unique special events. Harborplace has led the way for Baltimore's downtown renaissance and provided the catalyst for business growth throughout the area.
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Harborplace will coordinate special events and family entertainment taking place where it all began, along the harbor, at Baltimore's number one attraction… Harborplace. All the following events will take place at the Harborplace Amphitheater unless noted otherwise.
