Holiday Tree Lighting Among Many Merry Festivities At Village Of Merrick Park In Miami [October 2009]

Village of Merrick Park embraces the holiday spirit this season as it offers visitors the opportunity to join in its holiday happenings. To celebrate the season, Miami's luxury shopping paradise will offer a slate of modern-meets-traditional holiday celebrations including its annual Holiday Tree Lighting featuring a 50-foot tree and special shopping events during Thanksgiving weekend and Saturdays in December. Additionally, Village of Merrick Park's merchants offer a variety of specialty holiday items and gift selections that can satisfy even the most indulgent wish lists this year. Below describes this year's holiday festivities and offerings:

Live Music Series – Village of Merrick Park hosts a mix of Jazz, Bossanova, World Music, Flamenco, Classics, Pop Melodies, Contemporary and Latin Grooves. Guests can listen to the light musical stylings while enjoying all the shopping center has to offer including world-class boutiques, fine dining and light bites. The Live Music Series starts Saturday, October 10th from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. and continues every Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. throughout the end of May 2010.

Holiday Tree Lighting – Village of Merrick Park kicks off the joyous season with its most beloved free event, its annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, November 19th, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. For a second time, VMP “Goes Green,” as its 50-foot tree is lit with 55,000 LED light bulbs. The night's festivities will include a musical performance by the Coral Gables High School Choir, a holiday greeting from Santa Claus, children's activities throughout the center and live entertainment. Gather your family around the breath-taking tree for your first memorable photograph of the season. The tree will be lit at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Black Friday and Soothing Saturdays – Village of Merrick Park hosts its Black Friday relaxation themed event on Friday, November 27th between 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Enjoy soothing massage stations and activities to promote relaxation during the holiday shopping frenzy as well as children's entertainment. Receive a complimentary Village of Merrick Park aromatherapy candle with a purchase of $250 or more. Same-day receipts totaling $250 or more from any Village of Merrick Park retailer. Limit one candle per shopper, while supplies last. These relaxation-themed activities will continue every Saturday from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Village of Merrick Park from November 28th to Saturday, December 19th.
